& Process

I was contacted by HR for an interview that lasted 30 minutes. The hiring manager explained that their group focuses on power solutions, RF, and Digital, with work being rotational based on project needs. They didn't ask anything technical, but instead inquired about my past experiences and my ability to perform bench automation. It seems they are looking for a digital engineer with some RF expertise.

There are 2 stages for the interview. The first stage is with a team leader who will test you on some technical questions, like coding algorithms, debugging, and how you handle problems. The second stage is a manager interview, where they will ask questions like why you want to join us and if you know what the company does.

The interview process spanned a whole week and included two interviews, one done virtually and the other in person at their North Reading, MA location. Based on prior experience and online information, their interviews usually take more time. The initial round consisted of a few technical questions along with 1-2 behavioral questions. The second round involved meeting with two software engineers and the manager for about 40 minutes each. The engineers primarily asked technical questions, interspersed with some behavioral ones. My discussions with the manager were mostly casual and behavioral, concluding with a tour of the facility. They were having a barbecue that day, and they were nice enough to offer me food. It was a really pleasant and welcoming experience overall.

It was a 2 part interview process. HR communicated with me about setting up meetings, but I never actually spoke with them. First, I had an hour-long interview on Microsoft Teams with the team manager. About two weeks later, I was invited for an in-person interview. I met with 5-6 different people over a 3-hour period. These interviews included questions about my experience and resume, and then a significant number of technical questions related to circuit theory.
