First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Temple University.
Student Worker
It was an easy interview, conducted over Zoom, and consisted of two rounds. In one of the interviews, I spoke with the employer, and in the other, I spoke with another person from the department. I applied online, and the application process was straightforward, especially since I was applying for a student worker position.
- How would you describe your work style?
Social Media Marketing Intern
The interview was super easy and done over Zoom. I had to talk about my experiences, but it was tough since I only had photography experience then, not design or social media marketing. My boss at the time was willing to help me learn, and it was a great first internship, being hybrid and on my campus.
- What makes you want to work for Temple Pre-College programs?
Assistant Professor
So first there was an online interview, then an on campus interview which included a teaching demo. The department and search committee were very supportive. The first interview was like rapid fire - be super prepared. Focus on students in your answers. The campus visit felt welcoming and relaxed, but remember everything discussed counts, even during meals. Be yourself, but know which topics to steer clear of.
- Can you share an instance where you managed a challenging student interaction?
- What do you find most difficult about teaching?
Student Activities Coordinator
I was emailed an invitation for the interview. Then I had a Zoom interview with two staff members from the office. After that, I was emailed to be declined. I felt like I had great connections and the experience they were looking for, but the interview seemed like it was just a courtesy interview and I realized they weren’t really interested.
