First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Techtronic Industries.
Intern
The interview was online with two interviewers. It was short and brief, with a few questions about myself and my extracurricular activities (ECAs) in school. No technical questions were asked since it was for high school students.
- Can you tell me about your extracurricular activities in high school?
- What are your plans for university studies?
Field Sales and Marketing Representative
It was a really long interview process and I was ghosted. The recruiter was very intense and impersonal. They market the job as a leadership development role, but in reality, you spend your days stocking shelves at Home Depot. You do meet with your manager, but the person interviewing you doesn't have the authority to hire you; they just pass the questions along to HR.
No confirmed questions were included in this interview report.
Sales Representative
The interview at TTI was pretty standard. I applied and then had a call with a recruiter. They asked about my background, why I wanted the job, and how I keep myself organized and motivated in sales. It felt more like a chat, and they cared about my personality, how well I communicate, and if I could be trained. I also talked about my internships and how they got me ready for a busy, results-driven job. It was all about behavioral stuff, not really technical skills.
- Tell me about a situation where you had to persuade someone or get them to agree with your viewpoint.
- In a fast-paced sales setting, how do you cope with rejection or when things don't go as planned?
Sales and Marketing Representative
This has been the worst experience in my career. I did FOUR rounds of interviews and still got a rejection, FOUR rounds of interviews to SELL at HOME DEPOT. The last person who interviewed me was arrogant and barely paid attention to the call—all my time lost. I think is insane how they manage to interview someone so many times for such an entry-level position.
- What would you do if you didn't get this job?
