First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at TeamSnap.
Account Manager
The hiring process was unnecessarily complicated for what is essentially a straightforward product and service. The HR representative was excellent and responsive. They disclosed that employee turnover is significant, indicating it's not a long-term career destination (over 3 years), which was appreciated for its honesty. It seems leadership's primary goal is simply to find a buyer for the company.
- Could you describe your typical process and general approach?
Inside Sales Representative
I had a first interview which went well, and they said I'd meet with the department manager. When I had the next interview, it started with someone different than I was told, but then the second manager joined a bit later. It was going alright until they asked me to do a mock cold call on the spot. I wasn't warned about this at all, so I was totally unprepared and surprised. In my past jobs, when they want a mock cold call, I've always been told ahead of time so I could get ready. I didn't think this was a good candidate experience and it gave me a bad feeling about the company.
- Can you do a mock cold call for me, even though you don't know much about our platform and what questions to ask?
Software Engineer
This was genuinely one of the best interview experiences I've had. I went through 4 interviews with TeamSnap, and each one was a genuinely pleasant experience. All the interviews were conducted over the phone or Zoom. First off, there was a 30-minute phone screen with the recruiter. Then, I had a chat with an engineering manager who gave me a more detailed look into the engineering teams at TeamSnap. The next interview was a panel with 4 other engineers and potential teammates. They asked me questions about my background and also presented some scenario-based questions. The final interview was with the hiring manager. Everyone I met during the process was really kind, seemed to have a low ego, and had a solid understanding of the company and their procedures. This is the first interview loop I've gone through as an engineer that didn't involve any coding tasks or homework assignments, which I hope more companies start doing! I'd totally recommend applying to TeamSnap.
- Can you describe a past situation and explain how you dealt with it?
- What did you learn from a past situation you had to handle?
- Tell me about a time you encountered a specific situation and how you managed it, including what you learned.
Customer Support Representative
Had the usual recruiter screen and then a hiring manager interview. I thought I made it to the final round after getting an email, but then I was completely ghosted. I sent three follow-ups with no response. It took them over a week and a half to get back to me and say they had paused interviews, gave some weird feedback from the second interview, and that they had already made an offer to someone else. Honestly, I think that shows a lot about the company.
- Can you explain why you believe you are a suitable candidate for this position?
