You start with a call to HR. Then you talk with the Hiring Manager. After that, there's a take-home coding assignment with a flexible 2-hour time limit. Next, you review the take-home with engineers where you'll need to explain your choices. You'll then interview with the Product Owner, followed by an interview with Engineering Leadership. It all took a really long time and didn't seem to respect the interviewee's time. I think some of these could be combined into a group interview since 4 out of the 6 steps are basically behavioral.

This was genuinely one of the best interview experiences I've had. I went through 4 interviews with TeamSnap, and each one was a genuinely pleasant experience. All the interviews were conducted over the phone or Zoom. First off, there was a 30-minute phone screen with the recruiter. Then, I had a chat with an engineering manager who gave me a more detailed look into the engineering teams at TeamSnap. The next interview was a panel with 4 other engineers and potential teammates. They asked me questions about my background and also presented some scenario-based questions. The final interview was with the hiring manager. Everyone I met during the process was really kind, seemed to have a low ego, and had a solid understanding of the company and their procedures. This is the first interview loop I've gone through as an engineer that didn't involve any coding tasks or homework assignments, which I hope more companies start doing! I'd totally recommend applying to TeamSnap.

Behavioral Technical

I went through four rounds of interviews for this remote role. The last interview was with the CEO. I think he didn't like my business questions because I didn't get an offer. I had to follow up twice, which was unexpected after dedicating so much time to the interview process. I was also surprised by the treatment, especially since I was an employee referral and everyone thought I'd be a good fit. Given their old application and limited business growth, I'm glad it didn't work out, so keep that in mind.
