First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Tata Power.
Graduate Engineer Trainee
The interview process had 2 steps. The first was a technical interview, and the second was supposed to be an HR round. Unfortunately, I didn't pass the first round, so I didn't get to the HR round.
- Could you introduce yourself and discuss your projects in electrical engineering?
- Can you elaborate on your project concerning fault detection in a single-phase full-wave inverter using AI/ML?
- How is an inverter constructed?
Network Engineer
I joined in Zoom for about 30 minutes. They seem to pay well, but the leave policy is strict. The work culture is good, and sometimes emergency duties are scheduled. They also pay for overtime, which is a plus for job satisfaction.
- Could you start by telling me about yourself?
- What interests you about joining our organization?
- In your opinion, where do you see yourself in the next three years?
Electrical Engineer
The interview process had a total of 3 rounds. The first round was an aptitude test, followed by a technical round, and then an HR round. The overall level of difficulty was moderate. The HR questions were typical, like inquiries about family. The technical questions focused on theory and were also of moderate difficulty.
- Could you introduce yourself?
- What motivates your interest in joining Tata Power?
Finance Trainee
I had an interview with a panel of 3 people. The first person asked me general questions, like 'tell me about yourself,' my family background, and if I was willing to relocate. Then, the second person conducted a technical round covering accounting concepts, knowledge of Ind AS, auditing basics, and my articleship experience, including the assignments I did. Finally, an HR person asked me why I was interested in Tata Power, my future goals, and my areas of interest. The whole thing took about half an hour. It was a good experience, and they sent a selection email just 10 minutes after the interview.
- Can you tell us about your basic accounting concepts and your articleship experience, including the work you did?
- Please elaborate on your articleship experience and the assignments you undertook.
