First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Talkwalker.
Software Engineer
So the process at Talkwalker usually starts with applying online, then there's an HR screening. After that, it's either a technical or a case interview, and then finally a team or manager interview to check on skills, how you solve problems, and if you're a good fit for the team. I didn't make it past the technical interview.
- Can you tell me about your career aspirations?
Front End Developer
The interview process was really good and I felt informed the whole way. A recruiter reached out to me and we had a 30 minute call about the job and the company. Then I spoke with the Director of the department about my past experience and the technologies I've used, and some challenges I ran into. The last interview was a technical live coding challenge where I had to integrate an API and add features like pagination to a React app that was already set up with Typescript.
- Can you introduce yourself and describe challenges you've encountered in your past roles?
- Could you develop a React application that integrates with an API?
Vice President Revenue Operations
The interview journey began with a standard recruiter call. This was followed by a 30-minute chat with the hiring manager, who joined late and reviewed my resume for the first time during our conversation. He primarily inquired about my past experiences, without posing any behavioral or case-style questions. Subsequently, I met with three senior leaders. Two of these interactions were typical, but the third was quite challenging. The planned meeting with a senior leader didn't happen initially. We rescheduled, but just two minutes before the new time, he requested another postponement. The third attempt was successful, though he was 20 minutes late. After these meetings, I experienced a three-week period of being ghosted by the company before ultimately being declined. This experience was disappointing, especially for a leadership position.
- Walk me through your resume, which I am looking at for the first time right now.
Solutions Consultant
The interview process was quite odd and unprofessional, and I'm still being ghosted. It started in late November 2021. There were 4 main interview rounds and several phone calls after the first interview. A recruiter first reached out. The initial interview was a phone screen with HR, asking standard questions about my experience. Then I interviewed with the team lead, which went well and made me excited about the role. Next was a major presentation that I prepped a lot for, and it also seemed to go great with the team lead and director. The final interview was with the Chief Insights Officer, but she had to do it remotely because she was traveling. This call also seemed to go well, and I was very excited, feeling like a good fit. After that, HR said the team loved me and planned to offer me the job, but couldn't because of the holidays. They then asked for a quick catch-up with the team lead, which I did. In the new year, HR kept telling me the team was excited but the budgeting was slow. Weeks passed with HR saying they were excited but needed to sort out budgeting. I even spoke to the Chief Insights Officer again, who echoed the same sentiment. Eventually, after months of back and forth, contact stopped. Seven months later, I still haven't received a clear 'no.' It's a shame because it seemed like a great opportunity. My advice to Talkwalker is to just tell candidates 'no' to save them time and stress. My advice to applicants is not to count on an offer if they mention waiting on something.
