First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sytner Group.
Sales Executive
It was super easy and fast. We set a time and date over the phone and then I had the interview with a sales manager and a business manager. If they liked me, I then had an interview with the head of business, and if that went well, I'd get an offer. If not, then my application was unsuccessful.
- What motivates you daily?
Vehicle Photographer
The interviewer wasn't ready for our meeting because they forgot I was coming and didn't have answers to my questions. They also didn't know the salary but seemed really eager to hire someone. I was told I'd hear back by the end of the week, with second interviews planned for the following week. However, the interviewer never got back to me and always seemed to be busy with a customer when I called.
- Tell me about your personal life.
Marketing Executive
So, I had this initial chat which went pretty well, got some good vibes back, and they said I’d hear from them by the end of the week. Before that, communication was great, but then I just got a basic rejection email. Honestly, it would've been nicer to get a personal note from the person I actually talked to. During the call, they asked if I had stuff going on that might clash with their intense work hours, which felt a bit off. Also, they said something like, "If I give you work at 5, and you're supposed to wrap up at 5:30, I need it done before you clock out." That really rubbed me the wrong way, made it seem like they don't care about work-life balance.
- Do you have any personal commitments that could potentially interfere with your availability for our demanding work schedule?
HR Manager
I went through 4 interviews over 8 weeks, totaling 6 hours. I was offered the job and was very excited. However, the salary was different from what was discussed, so I asked for 24 hours to check my finances. I also had some bad family news, making it a stressful time. After processing everything, I accepted the offer and was waiting for the contract. Then, after another 24 hours, they withdrew the offer because I took too long to accept. This is ridiculous, and I feel like I dodged a bullet. It shows the company doesn't value its employees. I'd advise others to save their time.
