Behavioral Presentation

It was a refreshing interview process given the tough job market. Scheduling was a breeze with quick turnarounds between interviews. I initially went for a different role and went through 3-4 rounds, but a company reorganization put things on hold. HR was proactive and reached out a month or two later to offer a similar position and moved me through quickly. Everyone on the team was open about the difficulties and trade-offs, answered my questions straight up, and it felt like we were working together rather than me just performing. The team was super responsive via text and email the whole time. The second round went fast—I got an offer in less than a month (partly because I wanted a break between interviews). Overall, it felt like a respectful and genuine process.

My interview with Suki was disappointing. I experienced ghosting after interviews, which seems to be a pattern. During the interview, she talked about how important candidate experience is to them. However, that didn't match how I was treated. After I spent time preparing and interviewing, I got no communication about my status. Candidates shouldn't be left wondering. At a minimum, companies should send a rejection email if they aren't moving forward. That basic communication shows respect for people's time. This was a red flag and gave me a very negative impression of the company and its hiring.

I sent in my application online, and a recruiter reached out to me. Then, HR set up two interviews. The first one was okay; they asked me two questions, one theoretical that got more specific as we talked. They also asked me to build a two-person chat system in the same browser tab. The prompt wasn't super clear, so I ended up building a multi-chat system. During the second interview, we talked about the chat system problem for about 30 minutes, but I only managed to answer part of it. It felt like the interviewers didn't give enough hints or explanations, which made it hard to really get what they wanted.

  • Develop a custom useSelector hook given a store.js file with get, set, and delete functions. The hook should fetch values by key, and trigger updates in all components using it when a key is deleted.

The whole process kicked off with a 30-minute techno-managerial pre-screen, which turned out to be a heavy technical grilling. Next up was a one-hour coding round where I had to fix a production issue using Go concurrency, felt like free consulting. Then, I had to travel to their Bangalore office for two more rounds focusing on system design, both low-level and high-level. The recruiter was super positive, saying they'd wrap up other interviews in a week and get back to me with a decision. But then, silence. No feedback, no answers, and they just stopped responding to calls. It's really unprofessional ghosting after all that travel and time investment. Seems like transparency and basic courtesy are missing there, making me wonder about their employee treatment too.
