& Process

First, a phone interview with someone who's currently a buyer. Then, an in-person interview with the GvP. I also met with a bunch of other buyers on the same day. Then I had a second round of interviews, met with the CEO, and then had another chat with the GVP.

I applied online for a Store Manager position and had a call with the District Manager. During our chat, she asked me a few questions and then offered me an Assistant Store Manager role instead, with the potential for promotion. I accepted. She then instructed me to meet with the Manager at another store to finalize the hiring paperwork. At that store, they asked for an old pay stub before I could start. I provided it, but then never heard back. I left multiple voicemails and tried to reach them, but it was very unprofessional, and they didn't even return my old pay stub.

I applied for sales associate in Feb 2012 and realized it was more about HOW you answered than WHAT you answered. They wanted someone easy to work with, so be professional but have fun. Dress with a sense of fashion. Be persistent! I'd call after applying to ask for the store manager and check status. A week later, I got called in. A few days after that, I got a job offer. After 6 months, I was promoted to MIT and then PT Assistant Manager. The promotion didn't involve much of an interview, just training. My Store Manager trained me for 2 months. After a couple months, my District Manager reviewed everything to ensure I understood management responsibilities. A few months later, I was promoted to FT Assistant Manager. No interview, just an overview and a pay bump.

Super positive experience, the DM just threw me into an interview super casually last minute. I was dressed really casually, summer dress, tattoos and piercings showing, totally unprepared. I initially wondered why I was interviewing with the DM for a sales role, but later found out she was considering me for a potential part-time manager position.
