First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Stratasys.
Engineering
We started with a phone call screening to check your CV. Then, the first interview was on Teams with the hiring manager and some colleagues to go over your CV. After that, there was a second interview in the office, face-to-face, where you had to prepare a case to show your strengths on a relevant work case.
- Tell me about a time you dealt with production issues related to missing documentation.
- Describe how you've managed team-related issues that came up in a production setting.
- Present a case from your work that highlights your strengths.
Sales Representative
I was told I would get an interview, and then 7 months passed with no contact. They scheduled an interview, but then rescheduled it for a month later. They said they needed someone right away, but I had already taken another job and needed to finish up my projects there before I could leave.
- They mainly wanted to know about my contacts and if I could start right away and dedicate myself fully to them.
Additive Manufacturing Engineer
The initial screening was handled by a third-party company hired by Stratasys. It was a very basic check of personal details. The planning for the on-site interview was quite disorganized, with conflicting dates suggested by the third-party company, the hiring manager, and Stratasys HR, which felt unprofessional. The hiring manager seemed distracted during the interview and wasn't very helpful in answering my questions. The questions asked were pretty basic and not very engaging. Despite German law requiring reimbursement for travel expenses, I haven't received any information on submitting my travel costs, and HR is not responding to my inquiries. Overall, it was the worst and most unprofessional recruitment experience I've had.

Financial Analyst
The hiring process moved pretty quickly for me, especially since I was looking at several companies at once. A recruiter was helping me, and they really pushed Stratasys to move forward if they were interested. It kicked off with a 30-minute phone chat with the hiring manager. We actually ended up chatting for about an hour and a half over Skype, and it was a really positive conversation. After that, I talked to another senior person on the team, also via Skype for about an hour. These first two chats were mostly about the specifics of the role and how my background and personality would fit with what they needed. Then, I had a phone call with HR, where they checked if I was a good organizational fit and asked some behavioral questions. Once I cleared those, I went to their office. I thought I'd get an offer or at least discuss next steps, but it was more of a quick tour of their manufacturing exhibits and a chat with the hiring manager and another team member to confirm my skills and interest. Overall, it felt smooth, more like a conversation than an interview, which was great for me since I don't always do well in interviews.
- If your references were contacted, what's a negative characteristic they might share about you?
- Have you ever had an idea challenged by others, even when you were sure you were correct? If so, how did you manage the situation?
- What do you consider the most critical factors for success as an analyst?
