Support Operations Specialist
The interview process at Storyblok was super smooth, organized, and candidate-friendly. Scheduling was easy with a self-booking calendar, and HR was really quick with updates. I had five rounds: First, an HR Intro Call where they gave me the lowdown on the company and role. Then, a Manager Interview that was a mix of structured questions and conversation about my experience. After that, a Task Round where I got a realistic task relevant to the job, followed by a Task Presentation where I discussed my approach with the team in a collaborative chat. The highlight was the AMA with the Chief of Staff, which was a great chance to ask open questions about culture and growth. Everyone was so welcoming, making me feel part of the team even before the final rounds. I got the offer quickly after the AMA, and HR patiently explained everything. It felt like a process built on clarity, kindness, and respect, where they really took the time to get to know me and made me feel supported.

Product Marketing Manager
I had high hopes for Storyblok, but my experience with their interview process was very disappointing. After completing a task that directly addressed real-world challenges the company is working on, I was excited to present my work. However, my presentation call was abruptly canceled, and after providing additional availability, I received no further communication until an automated rejection email. The back-and-forth and poor communication felt unprofessional. What’s worse, the task I completed could now potentially be used by the company, making the process feel like idea-gathering rather than a genuine assessment. This completely changed my impression of Storyblok, and I expected much better from a company of their reputation.

Business Development Representative Team Lead
So, I applied and got invited for an interview 2-3 days later. The nice thing is that I could self-schedule, which was convenient. They did let me know upfront that my process would be a bit longer because the team would be away for their annual onsite/retreat for a week. One thing to note is that since HR/Recruitment isn't in EMEA, scheduling can be tough, and interviews for EMEA folks end up quite late in the evening. After my interview on Wednesday, they said I'd get feedback by the next Monday at the latest. That didn't happen, so I followed up on Tuesday. They replied the same day, saying the Hiring Manager decided to move forward with other candidates after their retreat. They asked for patience and promised an update the week of Sept 16th. I waited until Sept 23rd and had to chase them again because I still hadn't heard anything. On the 23rd, I got another response, which revealed their true situation: "the team is currently in the final stages with some candidates that we started interviewing earlier..." They asked for until the end of that week to decide on next steps. Again, radio silence. I didn't bother following up anymore. Finally, on Oct 2nd, I got the rejection, which wasn't a shock. Honestly, this company seems to have no clue how many people to interview or when. They also don't keep their promises regarding feedback, which is frustrating. They even lied about the next steps, saying the Hiring Manager wanted to wait, but then they were already in final stages with others. Don't waste your time here; you'll likely be ghosted, or if you do follow up, you'll just get more dishonesty.
- Can you tell me about your experience?
Content Writer
So after I got the interview, they gave me some tasks. The main one was to write an article for Storyblok about what Headless CMS is, why it's better than regular CMS, and why Storyblok specifically is the way to go. I did that, wrote the article, and then had to present it. They also said I should bring examples of past work to talk about, which I prepared. But then, during the presentation for the article in the second interview, they completely ignored my past work. After all that, they told me I wasn't moving forward because I didn't give any past examples. It's wild because they never actually asked for any or even looked at them. I even talked to the recruiter, and he totally agreed with me, but he couldn't do anything about it. It felt like a total bait-and-switch.
- Can you present your article on Headless CMS, detailing what it is and contrasting it with conventional systems?
- Could you elaborate on the reasons why a company should opt for headless over conventional CMS?
- Please explain why Storyblok is a superior option for headless CMS.
