I went through about 3 or 4 interview stages before the final in-person one. The HR person and the person who did the final interview didn't seem to be in sync. For a fresh grad like me, I thought I met most of the requirements for this labor-intensive job. It's just confusing why they'd hire someone older in the end.

So, I applied and the recruiter hit me up pretty fast. They were asking about my background and experience, mostly concerned I might be overqualified. I addressed that and felt like it went well. They sent my info to the hiring manager, but then I got an auto-rejection email over the weekend. I tried to get feedback from the team like they said I could, but they ghosted me. The hiring manager doesn't seem to know when they want to hire, so they'll probably just keep reposting the job.

The hiring process at StockX was smooth, well structured, and genuinely enjoyable. It kicked off with a recruiter screen to discuss the role, team, and what comes next. Communication was always clear, timely, and supportive. Following that, I had a technical screen focusing on frontend dev. The questions were fair, practical, and relevant to the job. The final round consisted of three one-hour virtual interviews: a Coding Interview for solving real-world frontend problems with JavaScript and React, a System Design Interview covering frontend architecture, component design, and performance, and a Team Fit Interview, which was a behavioral chat about past projects, collaboration, and handling challenges. All interviewers were professional and made the conversations feel collaborative. This process gave me a great feel for StockX’s engineering culture, expectations, and values. Soon after, the recruiter shared the offer, and all the onboarding and equipment details were communicated clearly and handled efficiently. Overall, a very positive and well-run experience.

The interview process kicked off with a chat with a recruitment manager, who was available for any questions during the whole thing. She gave an overview of the company and explained the compensation package. In this first chat, I was asked to introduce myself, talk about my experience, and explain why I wanted to join StockX. I also got to ask some questions. (30 minutes) Next up, I interviewed with a team lead for the specific site I’d be working on. We discussed work procedures and the general work atmosphere. I introduced myself again and discussed my personal values. Questions were welcome here too. (30 minutes) The third interview was with the site manager at the actual location. The conversation involved me introducing myself and discussing my background. I also got a tour of the site. (30 minutes) The last interview was with another team lead. This one focused on my background and my interest in working at StockX. They also asked about Sneaker trends and fashion. While I could've shown I know the culture, ;) I was told it wasn't essential but was a nice-to-have. I wrapped up by asking my questions. (30 minutes)
