Product Manager
We'll start with an intro and some questions about your resume. Then, I'll ask about your product design experience, for example, how you've used data to inform product decisions. Finally, we'll discuss the role details.
- What product do you like the most, and what's your reasoning behind that choice?
- Could you share your experience with leveraging data as a basis for product development?
Product Manager
Online Application is the first step, which is a video interview with a recruiter. Nothing unusual about this except that it was a video interview. The second step is a phone screen with the hiring manager, which focused on behavioral questions. Also very standard. The whole process took 4-5 weeks, certainly the longest among all the companies I interviewed for. Extremely unprofessional recruiter who just resorted to communicating via calls and called me at 7 AM PST one of the days. Seems like a great company, but need to hire better recruiters and actually be hiring for positions listed on the job board.
- Tell me about a product you've built.
Product Manager
There were 4 interviews plus a panel. First the recruiter, then the hiring manager, then the Director of Product, then another Director of Product. Finally, a PANEL INTERVIEW with Engineering, Product, and Design. Remember to tell a story and use data when answering.
- Describe a situation where you struggled to pitch an idea to leadership. What steps did you take to gain their buy-in?
