First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at State Farm Agency.
Customer Relations Representative
It was a really easy interview process. First, I had a phone call with the recruiter. We had a good back-and-forth. I asked them about the salary, and they said it was commission-based. Then I asked about benefits, and they said there weren't many, and no medical. This was different from what was advertised online.
- What makes you interested in this company?
Data Intern
This was my first recorded interview, and it was actually pretty good, I liked it better than the usual kind! It was video recorded, so I could re-record parts if I messed up. There weren't too many questions, I think 5 in total, and each was about 3 minutes, though one was 5 minutes. I got 10 seconds to read each question before it started. It was a new experience for me, but overall it wasn't bad.
- Can you share an instance where you faced a tight deadline, describe how you handled it, and what the outcome was?
Sales Associate
Had a phone screening where they just wanted to get to know me, asked about my availability and some common questions. It was pretty straightforward, though I noticed different agents do things a bit differently. After the phone interview, I went in for an in-person interview, had to get my insurance license, and then I got the job.
- What are your long-term career aspirations?
Account Associate
So first I had to do an online assessment. After that, there was a quick 10 minute phone call interview. They asked me why I wanted to work for State Farm and to rate my comfort level with sales on a scale of 1 to 10. The last part was an in-person interview that went for about an hour.
- Can you describe how competitive you are?

- Could you describe an instance where you handled responsibilities outside of your regular job duties?
