Software Engineer
I applied for this job and then waited about a month before HR emailed me to set up an interview. The HR person asked me about my background, the projects I completed during school, and the programming languages I know.
- Tell me about yourself and your background.
- What programming languages are you familiar with?
- Describe the projects you worked on while you were studying.
Engineer
You'll need to read a 20-page technical report and then solve a data engineering problem. You won't have much time to read the document, so fast reading and strong coding skills are a must. We're looking for people with a solid industrial background.
- How would you transform data from one format to another?
C++ Software Engineer
The interview process went well and was positive. The interviewer was nice and gave me a template for the coding task. The interview was at the Jurong East Hub on September 19, and it took two weeks to get the results. Unfortunately, I didn't get an offer because I was the second choice for the position.
- Can you explain how multithreading can be implemented in the code?
Data Engineer
The interview process began with a first round meeting the VP of one of the 4 divisions. They talked about a big, ambitious project they have going on and their plan to hire many fresh grads as data engineers. There was a short test on python and their software regarding version control. I didn't do great on the python test because I hadn't prepped for it, but they gave me a second chance. The second interview had 4 people, including a VP from another division. They asked standard interview questions, and then I had a second python test. This time, they just left me in a room to complete it by myself without much supervision.
- Can you tell me about your final year project?
- What are your strengths and weaknesses?
- What are your expectations from the firm?
