Software Engineer
I went through two rounds, first an initial interview, then a technical one. The technical part had a quick algo warm-up and then some questions about my resume. It finished with about 20 minutes to build a calculator component using React.
- Could you build a calculator component using React?
IT Consultant
Had a classic HR chat, then talked with a senior IT colleague. It was a good session where I got to share my lessons learned and key strengths. We also talked about my main pain points and how I plan to work on them.
- What are your expectations?
- Can you describe your experience?
- What do you consider your top skills?
Machine Learning Engineer
I applied online and then got an email to set up a phone interview with an engineer from the ML team. That first call was about 30 minutes, and we mostly talked about my ML/AI experience and some concepts like supervised and unsupervised learning. After that, they invited me for an onsite interview. They flew me out to their Syracuse, NY location, where I had 6 interviews from 9 am to 3 pm. Most of the interviews covered ML concepts, asking questions like "if I wanted my model to do this, what would I use?" or "How would I structure my data?" and other ML-related topics. The team was really nice as I moved between rooms, with at least one employee in each interview. There was an HR interview, lunch with the hiring manager, and a tour of the facility. I didn't get an offer, though. I'd say just know ML concepts and be ready to discuss data, ML models, and similar topics. I heard back about 2 months after the interview with the rejection.
- What model would you choose to forecast the company's growth over the next five years?
- Could you describe what model you would use if you wanted to predict the company growth in 5 years?
Server Administrator
I had a bunch of phone interviews. First, one with HR, then the hiring manager, and finally with the team. Everything seemed to go well. It's been months now, and from what I last saw, they were still thinking about it. I noticed they started advertising the job again after the interview. They've ghosted me since then, not giving me a definite answer. I had to take another job because I couldn't wait any longer. I wasn't thrilled with how slow their process was and how they leave candidates hanging.
- Can you tell me about your experience in your current role?
- Are you open to traveling to New York a few times annually?
- Would you be able to help out the desktop support teams?
