Technical Presentation

The process started with a phone screen, then a 4-hour interview via zoom with the hiring manager, HR, team members, and the director. It was a smooth process overall. I had to teach a team member a topic of my choice during the interview. The HR was slow to respond with the results, so I had to follow up two weeks after the interview, and then she responded the same day.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

First, there was a 30-minute phone screen with the hiring manager. Then, a 3-hour Zoom interview split into several parts. The HR explained benefits and answered questions in a 30-minute session. Two hardware engineers interviewed me for 45 minutes, asking resume-based questions. Following that, another 30-minute session with two engineers where I had to teach them something, with the goal of assessing my teaching ability. Then, two more hardware engineers asked resume questions for another 45 minutes. Finally, I met with the hardware team director for 30 minutes to ask questions and answer a few behavioral questions. I had to introduce myself three times in total during the process.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • 90 minutes total with 4 engineers asking resume-related questions, no design problems.
  • The hardware team director asked some behavioral questions, like 'Tell me a time where you raised a new design.'

Technical Coding

I had a phone interview first. If that went well, I was invited for an onsite interview in Syracuse, NY. I think I talked to about 8 people. It was a pretty thorough review process. You need to know signals and systems (discrete/continuous, Fourier transforms, etc.). Also, coding skills like VHDL/C++ are a big plus. The questions weren't too hard, especially if you're a recent graduate.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • Can you perform the Fourier transform of ___?
