Technician
The interview process was quick and straightforward. Just be truthful in your responses, and things should go smoothly. They understand you won't know everything, which is a positive. If you're unsure about something, there will always be a more experienced person available to help you learn.
- Could you introduce yourself and explain your interest in becoming a technician at spx?
Finance Rotation Analyst
So first I had a manager video call, then they flew me out for some panel interviews. They put us up in a hotel which was cool. The day started with a presentation, then there were three panel interviews, each with three people. They asked a lot about my resume, and one panel was technical. I tried to be personable and fit the company culture, which seemed important to them. The managers and execs seemed really into it.
- Classic questions about how I fit with the team and company culture
- Can you tell me more about your resume?
- Tell me about your experience with evaluation modeling.
Assembly Technician
Got an email after they found my CV online. SPX Technologies, the parent company of ECS, handles HR for them. SPX set up a quick phone call to see if I should come for a one-on-one interview at ECS. SPX then passed my info to ECS and they set up the in-person interview. I went to ECS in Wappenham, Northamptonshire, UK, which is pretty remote, for the interview. It included a practical test where I had to hand solder SMT components to circuit boards and hand crimp wires. The interviewer didn't even check my work or give feedback after I was done. Instead, he gave me a tour of the company and showed me their products. He said he'd get back to me the next week, but never did, so I didn't get the job.
- In your current job, have you performed crimping tasks?
Sourcing Change Manager
It started off like a normal interview process, with three rounds involving recruiters and managers. But then, in what I'm guessing was the final round, things really changed at the executive level. The executives I met with were incredibly unprofessional. They seemed unprepared and were downright rude. I got the impression they weren't really listening to me, and one of them was even eating lunch during the interview. What was particularly strange was that they kept interrupting me, not only to criticize my answers but also, it seemed, to criticize me personally. It was a really odd experience. I'm not shocked I didn't get the job, but people who take the time to apply deserve to be treated with more respect.
- Can you explain your frequent job changes?
