First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sport Chek.
Sales Associate
It was a super entry-level interview, mostly asking about my availability as a part-timer and how I'd balance it with school. I chatted with the manager in their office for a bit, and they said they'd get back to me if I was a good fit.
- How do you think your interests and hobbies, especially in sports, make you a good fit for Sportchek?
- Tell me about your availability as a part-timer and how you'd manage it with your school schedule.
Cashier
The interview was easy and had casual questions. It's usually with the store manager. They asked general things about your past jobs and experience. They also asked if you'd be okay working with specific things.
- What was your previous experience?
- Are you comfortable with our work environment?
- How would you approach selling a product?
Footwear Advisor
The interview process was pretty straightforward. First, I had a phone call with the recruiter. She asked about my availability and if I'd be okay with getting a security clearance, which I confirmed I was. After that, she set up an in-person interview with the hiring manager at the store. I showed up on time, and the manager greeted me warmly. She took me to her office in the back storage area and asked me some standard customer service interview questions.
- What advice would you have given to your previous boss?
Digital Marketing Consultant
The marketing manager, Travis, started with an overview of the company's digital marketing strategy and upcoming projects. He then asked about my background in performance marketing, social media campaigns, and optimizing e-commerce. We had a good chat, and Travis also talked about team dynamics and what he's looking for in the role. To wrap up, he asked about my availability and what the next steps would be. It was a good conversation.
- Can you share your experience with Google Analytics and how you've handled the switch to GA4?
