Behavioral Technical

The first interview was an hour long over Zoom with two interviewers. The first 30 minutes was more conversational, like a get-to-know-you session, looking for shared interests and experiences. They asked general questions about my past roles. It was pretty easygoing. The second part was also pleasant but had more specific questions, including some behavioral hypotheticals.

Behavioral Technical Coding

The interview process included an HR call that went well, followed by two technical interviews focused on frontend development. These interviews were straightforward, with questions about my experience. Although I received positive feedback, they classified me as mid-level, not senior, despite my over three years of senior experience. This might be due to my unfamiliarity with tanstack query, which was a question. The role was for a senior position, so unfortunately, no offer was extended. Despite this, the overall experience was positive.

  • Can you tell me about a challenge you've encountered?
  • Describe a difficult situation you faced in your frontend work.
  • Are you familiar with tanstack query?

Behavioral Technical Coding

If your application passes the initial screening, you might get a quick call or video chat with a recruiter/HR to check your qualifications and interest. Then, there's usually a more detailed interview, in-person or video, with the hiring team or future colleagues to talk about your skills and fit. You might get asked about how you handle different situations. Sometimes, there are more interviews with various team members or managers, digging deeper into the role or your background. For tech roles, you might also have to do technical assessments, like coding challenges or practical tasks, to show off your skills.

Confirmed questions6 questions
  • Tell me about your experience with CI/CD and maintaining build quality in those environments.
  • Can you share an instance where you had to get buy-in for a new testing process or tool from stakeholders or teammates?
  • What's your strategy for keeping up with the newest developments in QA and automation?

Behavioral Technical Case

I applied online. Sparq got in touch to set up an interview and then took the job post down. They wouldn't say if they were actually hiring for an open role. I was never sure if there was a job I was interviewing for. Everyone I talked to was professional and easy to talk to. There was a 15-minute screening call, then another 15-minute call with an internal recruiter where I thought maybe they were using text-to-speech or someone was feeding them questions live. The first interviews asked basic questions about how product helps Sparq clients' business outcomes. Then there was a 1-hour interview with two people from the 'product practice' where they asked about product strategy, joining a project mid-way, and planning. If you prepare for the top 50 PM questions, you'll be fine. The internal recruiter emailed the next day to say they were moving on but suggested we stay in touch for future openings. It looks like they interview people as part of the sales cycle, and if they don't close the deal, they take down the posting and interview you anyway.

Confirmed questions8 questions
  • Can you elaborate on your past experiences?
  • How would you handle joining a project that's already underway?
  • Tell me about your background with different software delivery methodologies.
