I had a 10-minute screening call with HR, then a 1-hour video interview with HR. After that, a 1-hour technical interview about my skills and experiences. Finally, a call to discuss the experience and the next steps.

It was fine. This company doesn't exist anymore. Glassdoor is annoying and forces you to review places. So here is my review for a place that I haven't worked in over 3 years and also that is literally not a company anymore. How very useful for your metrics.

Behavioral

I had one interview with the recruiter and it was honestly one of the worst recruiter interviews I have ever experienced, and I've been in HR for a while. She wasn't very friendly, was very abrupt, showed up late, and acted like I was wasting her time even though she was the one who reached out to me to schedule the meeting. She really didn't like being asked questions and became very defensive. I started by asking typical questions about company culture, but she couldn't even answer those well. Then, when I asked the usual 'Why is the job open?' question, she shut down, got really defensive, and ended the meeting somewhat abruptly without a proper explanation. It was clear after that I didn't want to work there. I did some research and found out the previous person in the role was only there for about a year, and it seems like people don't stay long, so there's clearly an issue with the culture and the organization. I was trying to give them a chance, and I normally wouldn't write a bad review, but this experience was bad enough that I felt future interviewees should be aware!

Went through the whole interview process, including spending a weekend creating a test project for them. They did not give me an offer which is fine, but they couldn't even bother to call or write me an email after all the time I spent interviewing. Just one of those canned responses: "While your skills are certainly impressive, we have decided to pursue other candidates...." If someone spends hours interviewing with your company and writing code, at least have the decency to write a personal response. This is lazy and insulting.
