The interview process took about 3 weeks and had 7 interviews total. All interviews were done over Zoom, which made the multiple rounds super convenient. The reason for so many interviews was that the role was fully remote and would be working across 3 different teams, so lots of people needed to chat with the candidate to get a feel for their background and make sure they were a good fit.

Silverchair's interview process has a few rounds with various people at the company, from leaders to folks you'd be working with. It usually starts with a recruiter chat, then two more chats with panels of about two employees each. The last one is with PeopleOps, and then you might get an offer. All the interviews feel pretty chill, like a chat between you and the team. It's a chance for everyone in the company to give feedback and for you to see if you're a good fit, just as much as it is for them to see if you're a good fit.

I had a great time interviewing here. There were 3 rounds. First, I spoke with the Talent Manager. Second, I met with the Software Quality Assurance Engineering Manager and the VP of Software Engineering. Third, I chatted with an SQA Automation Engineer, an SQA II, and a Scrum Master. There wasn't a technical challenge, but they asked me about my software development background and the job needs to see if I had the technical skills. I think there's usually a 4th interview with people ops, but I didn't do that part before getting an offer because of some outside stuff. They were really open and made me feel good about the company by talking to me straight and giving me a good offer. The team was super friendly and answered all my questions about the job, the office vibe, and what the company believes in.

The interview process was straightforward and easy to get through. Silverchair didn't present any unexpected challenges, and all the people I met were really friendly. The interviewers asked questions directly related to the job I was applying for and things that were on my resume. It's also really important to Silverchair that you'd be a good fit for their team. I found the whole thing very refreshing compared to other companies I've interviewed with. They were open, honest, friendly, promote, and flexible. I have to mention how great their recruiter was; he's absolutely top-notch. I found the interviews easy because all the questions were fair and relevant. No questions about my spirit animal, thankfully! I have no issues or suggestions for improvement. Looking forward to starting!
