First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sig Sauer.
CNC Programmer
I was contacted by a recruiter from the company via a job website. The first interview was with the recruiter, which I felt went well. The second interview was with a manager and the production team manager. I felt good about this interview and believe I answered all questions effectively with clear communication. The role involved relocating from California to New Hampshire, which I was completely willing to do, but for some reason, they decided to proceed with other candidates. What I didn't appreciate was not receiving a phone call to inform me of their decision; I just got a standard email.
- Questions about reading prints were asked.
- I was asked to evaluate NC Code.
Human Resources
The interview process was good, with insightful questions. It moved quickly, and I had an interview with the business area leader the very next day. The HR staff and leaders were really nice. It seems like a fantastic company to work for.
- Tell me about your experience.
- Would you be open to traveling for this role?
Machine Operator
I communicated with a staffing consultant via email. I also had a really short phone interview with an employee who didn't give his name. He said I didn't have enough experience. The staffing consultant still set up an interview for me. When I got there, I talked with 3-4 people who kept asking about my last job's termination terms, which are confidential. The interviewers would chat with their coworkers for minutes while I was waiting, and they swore a lot. The whole thing was really unprofessional and they made it obvious they didn't want to be there. They couldn't recall who I spoke with on the phone, so their communication is bad. The only good part was with the Quality Manager, and it was about reading blueprints. I also felt singled out because I don't own a gun. The staffing consultant only replied a week after I emailed her post-interview. I'm glad I didn't get the job given how clueless they were.
- What makes you a better candidate than others?
- How would you handle seeing someone with a gun?
- What led to your termination from your last job?
Research and Development
I applied to the job through HR, and the recruiter contacted me soon after. I was then scheduled for an interview, but never heard back. When I called to confirm the details the day before, the recruiter told me the job was filled. They did say I'd be considered for another role and that I'd get a job description, but two weeks later, I haven't heard anything and I'm not really interested anymore. The communication was really bad; I had to chase the recruiter for info, and still didn't get what I was promised. Be prepared to call them a lot because they rarely call you.
