Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sig Sauer.
Design Engineer
There were a bunch of interviews. I talked with the team leads for the role I'd be joining, and also future coworkers. Then I met with other team leads, and finally, the VP of R&D.
- Can you discuss team dynamics?
- What's your grasp of GD&T?
- Describe your process for tackling a new problem.
Design Engineer
Had a quick chat with HR first, then went through 3 separate 45min meetings with senior engineers over a week. All seemed to go okay and they gave me the thumbs up. But then, it went totally quiet for three weeks. I called the HR person and they said they weren't hiring for the role anymore. Total waste of my time and the engineers' time. I heard from an insider that this happens a lot.
- Regarding the P365, several failures to eject occurred during testing. What could be the reason for this?
Design Engineer
A recruiter initially reached out to schedule an interview. I then met with two Engineers who mentioned that my interview would be condensed into one session instead of their usual two. The interview started with questions about my previous work experience, followed by technical inquiries covering topics like metallurgy, FEA, and mechanical design.
- Can you describe the typical stress-strain relationship observed in alloy steel?
