First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sig Sauer.
Manufacturing Engineer
The interview process was good overall, although it just ended without any follow-up communication. The calls themselves were great, but it was disappointing that there was a lack of communication towards the end. I would still consider interviewing with them again.
- What value do you add to the team?
Senior Manufacturing Engineer
They did a phone interview and then an in person meeting at the plant. I took a brief tour of the plant in North Little Rock, Arkansas. I was interviewed in a conference room with 3 other managers from the office.
- What was the question they asked you
Manufacturing Engineer
I applied on my school website for an interview with Sig Sauer. They posted for a manufacturing engineering intern that would be doing fixture designing, testing and evaluating, general work under the senior manufacturing engineer. I was called by a university recruiter who was extremely nice to deal with. He set up an interview directly with the senior manufacturing engineer on site. I went there and was asked 3 simple technical questions, 2 of which I answered correctly (pressure in piston, and some other easy question). The engineer posed the third question knowing I would probably not get it right, but wanted to see my thinking process and how I answered it... He then took me around 2 facilities that were state of the art.
- You have a force on top of a piston of certain area. What is the pressure?
- What is the pressure in a piston given force and area?
- What is the pressure in a piston given force and area, and how do you approach a problem you may not know the answer to?
