First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.
Research Assistant
I did a quick 15 minute screener call first. After that, I was invited for an in-person interview with four people from the research team. They each took turns asking me questions, told me a bit about the job, and then let me ask them questions too. It was a pretty standard, nice, and quick interview.
- If you could research anything, with no limits on resources or constraints, what topic would you choose?
Counselor
My post and my account was deleted after I posted my experience. I was told via email that I was rejected after interviewing, but Shirley Ryan was not communicative and did not help me in the selection process even though I repeatedly reached out and expressed I have lived experience. Like many say on here, there is ghosting.
- When will you be graduating?
- Are you interested in a different position that has already expired?
Human Resources Generalist
So I had a really bad experience. There were two phone screens, then two video interviews, and then I went on-site for a 3-hour interview. I met different people than before. I thought it went okay. But then they just ghosted me, no reply at all, even after all the time I spent. Seems like this happens a lot here.
- Can you discuss your past work experience, particularly concerning total rewards?
- What are your career aspirations for the next five years?
Software Engineer
There were five rounds in the interview process. If you have strong fundamentals, you can clear it. The second and third rounds were coding rounds, the first was an aptitude test, the fourth was a technical round, and the final round was with HR.
- Tell me about your aptitude skills.
- What are your strengths in data structures?
- Can you explain array manipulation techniques?
