First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.
Registered Nurse
It was a really comfortable and calm interview. They made sure I didn't feel nervous at all. I spoke with two nurse managers who went through my resume and asked questions based on what was on it. They also asked about my current employment status and my responsibilities.
- Can you walk me through your resume?
- What has been your most rewarding clinical experience?
- Tell me about a time you dealt with conflict.
Registered Nurse
So after I applied, I got an email a couple days later for this 'New Grad Open house' thing and I had to RSVP. When I got there, we were split into groups by color, and there were a bunch of nurse managers. We all introduced ourselves, asked some questions, and then got a tour of the hospital. Back in the room, they told us to mingle with the nurses, managers, and other staff. While we were doing that, they started calling us out one by one for a 1-on-1 chat with a nurse manager, which I guess was the actual interview.
- Can you tell me about your experience in rehab nursing?
- What were your key learnings from your clinical rotation at RIC?
- What motivates you to want to work at this hospital?
Registered Nurse
I applied for the job and about a week and a half later, I got an email to schedule an interview. I was able to get an interview time with the manager within two weeks of getting that email. The interview itself was pretty straightforward and happened online via video conference.
- What makes you interested in working in rehab?
