First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts.
Executive Assistant
I was contacted by the GM for an interview. It was initially set up for multiple people, but I ended up just meeting with the GM. The interview went well, but ultimately they hired someone who previously worked at Shangrila, which is understandable. I heard back about not getting the job about three weeks later.
No confirmed questions were included in this interview report.
Customer Service Representative
The process was really well organized and they kept in touch, which was nice. They were friendly but also serious to make sure they got the right person for the job, so I thought it went pretty smoothly overall.
- Can you share your previous experience in this area?
- What experience do you have that is relevant to this field?
Intern
Group interview for interns. First with the HR and second with the head department (f&b/chef). Questions are pretty easy, they ask about your personablity, hobbies, future plans, etc, and for the department heads, questions revolve around what you know about the role you want to apply in (ex: if you are kitchen department, they ask about your specialty dish, mother sauces, etc)
- Can you name the five Mother sauces?
- What can you tell us about your personality?
- What are some of your hobbies?
Service Associate
The interview process for the F&B Attendant position was pretty simple. They asked about my schooling, any experience I had in F&B like serving or bartending, and if I knew much about hotels in general. The people interviewing me were nice and it felt like a good experience overall.
- What's your educational background?
- Can you describe your relevant F&B experience, like serving or bartending?
- What do you know about hotels in general?
