I was contacted directly by a senior person, not HR, which was weird. The interview was 45 mins and mostly about their internal problems. It felt like they wanted free consulting, not to interview me. They also mentioned the last two people in this role were laid off. It felt disorganized and unprofessional, like they were trying to get insights rather than hire someone.

I had a few rounds of interviews, starting with an outside recruiter and then the hiring manager at Sermo. I also met with another manager and the VP. Things went pretty quickly until after I met with the VP. Everyone I met was really nice and friendly. The first interview with the hiring manager focused a lot on my background and skills. The other interviews seemed more about seeing if I'd be a good cultural fit, as they didn't ask many more questions about my past experience. I'm not a huge fan of STAR questions, though I see their use sometimes, and they didn't ask many. I also couldn't really figure out what Sermo's main goals or values are, and I wish they were more aligned. They were quick to respond at first, but then it felt like they became less open. I had to ask for updates, and eventually, they told me I wasn't moving on to the final round. The recruiter said she'd try to get feedback, but I never heard back. It's tough to know why I didn't get the job when the questions didn't really seem to focus on the key requirements. It was also odd that the job was posted again after my interviews, so I'm not sure what they're really looking for or how they handle hiring. I also wonder if they respect candidates' time. I think they should have a set of planned questions related to the job duties, because it felt like everything was asked on the spot.

I had 3 interviews with 5 different people, including the HR Manager and the branch manager. They said the last step was supposed to be a phone interview with the Account Executive I would report to, but they couldn't make the last appointment. It took weeks for the recruiter to get back to me saying they were putting the position on hold to re-evaluate their budget. I thought every interview went really well, so I was confused about the lack of follow-up. It's been over a month since my last interview and I still haven't heard anything. Still hoping though!

I applied through LinkedIn, and about two days later, I had a call where they told me about the company. Then, they evaluated my English by asking basic questions about my hobbies. After that, they said they would send me links for a psychometric exam and an English test. Once I passed those, I had an in-person interview with the head of the department, who gave me a test on basic HTML, CSS, and Javascript knowledge. Finally, after passing that exam, I had another in-person interview, entirely in English, with the head of the department.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • Technical aspects involve modifying existing code, such as adding HTML divs, adjusting CSS styles, and changing Javascript logic to ensure functionality, given that the code is pre-written and only requires modifications.
