Data Analyst
They contacted me almost a year after I applied for the Senior Data Analyst position. Even though I didn't need the job anymore, I decided to go through with the interview. The interviewer was really condescending from the beginning. She boasted about Sense Corp's support for professional development and training, but then dismissed me because I lacked sufficient consulting experience, without asking anything about my ability to learn. I have worked in consulting for several years, and while I'm not saying that should guarantee me the job, she insisted multiple times that I'm not 'really' a consultant. At that point, I knew I didn't want to work for this company. It was strange because the interviewer and the company present themselves as 'Management Consulting,' but in reality, they are a technology consulting firm.

Business Analyst
I applied through my school's career site and heard back about a week later to schedule an interview. The interview started late by 20 minutes and only had 2 questions. Most of the time was spent with the interviewer talking about the company's training program, including personal details about past hires and their social lives. She also shared personal stories about coworkers. After this long monologue, I was asked if I had questions. I asked about consultant roles, hiring branches, and placement processes, but she didn't know the answers. The interview ended because we ran over time, and I was later told I didn't get the next round. It felt unfair because I couldn't really talk about my qualifications.
- Of all the internships you've completed, which one did you enjoy the most?
- What led you to choose your college and your field of study?

Sense Corp's recruiting process was a really bad experience for me and my friends. The recruiters would hype you up, saying you're amazing, but then you'd get rejected fast. Even though they say they hire non-business majors, they seem to really favor MIS grads. The interview process has three parts: first, an in-person behavioral interview where they look at your resume; second, a case interview with two current employees; and third, a dinner to check if you're a cultural fit. The way they pick people for the next round in the second part is weird because each room sends a set number of candidates to the final round. So, if you're in a room with really strong candidates, it's harder to advance, while weaker candidates in another room might get through just to meet the room requirement for the dinner. After the third round, many people were put on a waiting list for months. They were told it was because the company was waiting to see how many people from other schools would accept offers, or waiting for other candidates to accept or decline offers. The whole timeline was messy compared to other recruiting I saw this semester. I get that the recruiter wanted to be nice and make students feel valued, but it gives people false hope. The company should be more upfront and communicate professionally so students don't get stuck in limbo between interviews or waiting for offers. Sense Corp promotes its consulting culture as great, but there are other companies with similar cultures that have better recruiting processes and aren't so arrogant about their industry position.
- What's your reason for wanting to join Sense Corp?
Entry-level Position
3 rounds of interviews: round 1: Behavioral/get to know you with a focus on company culture to help determine fit. (this portion was a 1:1 interview) round 2: Half behavioral and half case interview to continue to assess fit and learn how you think (this portion was a 2:1 interview with two senior-level employees) round 3: Dinner with the recruiting team where candidates are encouraged to ask questions and get to know more current employees.
- Instead of a typical case, they asked you to consider the perspectives of multiple parties in the buyer/seller process.
