Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sense Corp.

Sense Corp's recruiting process was a really bad experience for me and my friends. The recruiters would hype you up, saying you're amazing, but then you'd get rejected fast. Even though they say they hire non-business majors, they seem to really favor MIS grads. The interview process has three parts: first, an in-person behavioral interview where they look at your resume; second, a case interview with two current employees; and third, a dinner to check if you're a cultural fit. The way they pick people for the next round in the second part is weird because each room sends a set number of candidates to the final round. So, if you're in a room with really strong candidates, it's harder to advance, while weaker candidates in another room might get through just to meet the room requirement for the dinner. After the third round, many people were put on a waiting list for months. They were told it was because the company was waiting to see how many people from other schools would accept offers, or waiting for other candidates to accept or decline offers. The whole timeline was messy compared to other recruiting I saw this semester. I get that the recruiter wanted to be nice and make students feel valued, but it gives people false hope. The company should be more upfront and communicate professionally so students don't get stuck in limbo between interviews or waiting for offers. Sense Corp promotes its consulting culture as great, but there are other companies with similar cultures that have better recruiting processes and aren't so arrogant about their industry position.
- What's your reason for wanting to join Sense Corp?
Consultant
I had an initial HR call. There was a long delay after that. Then I had a technical screen with a consultant. After that, there was silence. It was disappointing because the communication was so poor. I reached out weeks later only to be met with silence again without closing the loop. The calls themselves were super positive, and the technical screen was challenging but also very positive. It seems like the people who work here are good, but the hiring processes are poor.

- Could you walk me through a consulting case scenario?
- Describe your approach to gathering requirements.

After applying online, I was contacted 3 days later about an initial phone interview with HR. The next day, I got notified about a 2nd round with a manager the week after. Later that same day, I was told about a final interview with the HR Director and recruiter the following week. At the end of that week, I heard back that a decision might take a while. (Still waiting on the decision.)
