I had a terrible interview experience with Sandvik Chile. The process was long and involved many interviews and tests. Unfortunately, they ghosted me at the very end. I sent an email to inquire about the status of my application, but received no response. A month later, I sent another email highlighting their unprofessionalism in not providing a final update on the recruiting process, but again, they did not reply.

I went through an interview with Sandvik, and they made me do a personality test and a logic test. It felt like a lot of pre-screening and not very personal, like it didn't care about my qualifications or experience. It took a long time and focused on general tests instead of my actual skills for the job. The personality test felt especially invasive and not related to the role. I get that they need to check candidates carefully, but a more balanced way that looks at relevant skills and practical knowledge would have been better and saved everyone time.

Behavioral Technical Case

This was a role-specific interview focusing on experience, situational questions, your knowledge on the subject, and how you handle pressure. They also asked about peer management, efficiency, and your desire to learn, among other subject-specific questions. The interview plan was well-thought-out. It's better to do the interview in person for a better impact than virtually over teams etc.

  • Can you walk me through your experience in relation to this role?
  • How do you approach situational challenges?

Behavioral Technical

Applied online and got a recruiter call to schedule an interview. Had a first round with the hiring manager and team engineers. It covered my background, projects, and interpersonal skills. After passing, I was asked for salary expectations. They considered it reasonable and invited me for an onsite interview in Sandviken. The second interview involved the manager discussing organizational behavior and engineers discussing technical activities. I got an offer with a significantly lower salary than requested. The manager was inflexible on negotiation and pressured me to decide within a week due to other candidates. I found the workplace culture questionable and declined the offer.

  • What are your expectations of a boss?
  • Describe your approach to handling conflict.
