First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sales Benchmark Index.
Marketing Specialist
It was about a 5-6 week process. First, a recruiter call, then an interview with the hiring manager. After that, I had to do a company case study and present it to an audience of 3 people (the hiring manager and two other senior team members). Finally, there was a last interview with HR. Preparation is key for a good interview process. They pride themselves in their values so learn these.
- Which of the company's values resonates with you the most?
Consultant
The interview process had about 5-6 rounds in total. I was ghosted after the presentation round. It was really frustrating because I spent hours preparing a presentation and doing an excel exam. The least they could have done is let me know I wasn't selected, but instead, there was total silence. It really says something about the company when they make you spend hours preparing and then don't take even a minute to send a rejection email.
- What makes you want to join SBI Growth?
Engagement Manager
It was a super weird experience. A recruiter hit me up on Linkedin, and now I'm thinking maybe it was to meet their DEI targets (I'm a woman). So, basically, it was a recruiter chat, then a talk with an EM, and then a case study with an exec. They never asked for my resume, and I didn't even know what specific job I was going for. Just like others here, I got ghosted after the case study.
- Can you map your career goals against what SBI offers?

Principal
The interview process began with an email from HR, followed by a one-on-one screening to assess my suitability and discuss compensation upfront, which I really appreciated. Next, I had a phone interview with a partner who provided more details about the role and assigned several homework tasks, including reading and a case study. I then presented my case study to two partners, who offered feedback to help me prep for the final interview with the then senior partner, now CEO. The final step involved meeting the Senior Partner in person over breakfast to pitch the case study. We later arranged a dinner with our spouses to finalize details. My spouse and I flew out to the Senior Partner's hometown, with the company covering accommodation at a resort. During the day, the SP and I discussed the offer details, including some light negotiation, ensuring it was a good mutual fit. In the evening, we had a pleasant dinner with our spouses, focusing on conversation and minimal work talk, which made me feel the company valued my family's support. A week later, the initial partner called with the offer. We negotiated within a narrow range of $10K/year until we agreed on the contract language. The negotiation was quick, fair, and friendly, making me very happy with my decision to join the firm.
