Got reached out to by an HR person at SA who gave me the lowdown on what to expect next, which was super helpful. We chatted about my background and what they needed for the job, and they told me when I'd hear back. I got contacted right on time to set up interviews with the department head and another team member. After that, they let me know what the final interview round would be like if I moved forward and when they'd decide. After the final interviews, HR gave me the details on how they'd make their final decision. It was all really smooth and professional, which was a relief after dealing with some pretty disorganized places or places that couldn't even answer basic questions about their own hiring process.

I interviewed with department members and a department head separately. During the interview with the dept members, I was asked questions in areas that were not my skillset and expected to answer them intelligently. One of the managers kept asking me ambiguous questions, only stayed for a 1/2 hr (to attend a meeting) of the 1 hr interview and offered me "suggestions" which I was taken aback by as I found it inappropriate. After he left the interview, the rest of it seemed to go pretty well. Once I met with the dept head, I left feeling relatively confident, but unsure about the manager as he didn't stay long enough during the interview to really get to know me and provide the opportunity to sell myself especially since the questions relative to the position they were hiring for and along my skillset came afterwards. So the interview was shaky to start but it seemed to end well. I was disappointed when I received the feedback that I was not able to clearly give examples of my work and I believe this feedback was directly from the manager who didn't stay for the interview. I think this was an unfair assessment. I was also frustrated at being asked ambiguous questions and subsequently criticized for giving ambiguous responses especially as I was bound by NDA's from prior positions. As regards ambiguous questions, I did specifically ask for examples so I could better answer their questions however none came.

The initial stage was a typical phone screening that went well, leading to an in-person interview. During the in-person meeting, I spoke with two people who asked standard questions about my background and experience. I felt good about it. However, after several weeks of trying to reach the recruiter with follow-up emails, I never heard back, not even a rejection. The recruiter had been very responsive before that. I get that not everyone can be contacted, but not hearing anything after two interviews felt strange since things had been going so smoothly.

After applying, I got an email from HR inviting me for an interview. It began with the HR rep. asking general questions about my background. Then, I met with the claims manager and other claims workers. The claims manager reviewed my resume and asked more specific questions.
