First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Rubio's Restaurants.
Cashier
I had a one on one with the General Manager at the restaurant. We talked about customer service, my availability, and what I'm interested in. It was pretty low pressure and informal since it's an entry level role mostly for high schoolers.
- What's your schedule and availability?
Manager
I got a message on Indeed and sent my resume. A week later, I interviewed with the District Manager for about 1.5 hours, talking about my work history and future goals. They were really nice. Then, a couple of weeks after that, I talked to the Director of People Services, who was also great. We discussed my experience and where I saw myself going. The last step was shadowing a lunch shift and then a relaxed chat with the District Manager. About a week after that, I got an offer. I didn't take it because I had another offer, but the whole process was awesome and the company seems to really care about its employees. I'd definitely recommend applying if you're looking for a job.

Marketing Specialist
You'll be meeting with pretty much the whole marketing team over the course of the interviews. They all seemed really nice and really into their jobs. Most of the questions were super basic, like asking about my current role and how it fits the one I'm applying for. I did like learning about the company, so you should definitely know their campaigns and products inside and out. The only thing that bugged me was that I got the feeling the company isn't doing great financially. I think money is an issue, and one person mentioned they haven't had raises in 5 years. Kinda weird and not very professional.
- Can you share an interesting marketing trend or event from the last few months?
