First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Rita's Water Ice.
Brand Marketing Manager
Started with emails with HR, then went straight to an interview with the hiring manager. They were really upfront and direct. Definitely have some questions ready to go, and be sure to ask about the salary range for both base pay and any bonuses.
- What is your availability?
- Can you share details about your personal life, such as if you have children and their ages?
Team Member
It was a little all over the place, they asked questions about the company, your hygiene, your biggest accomplishments, why you want to work at that specific location, professional qualities, etc. They just want to see if you can hold a conversation. A plus if you can have questions for them and relate to them.
- Tell me about your biggest fail and how you overcame it.
Scooper
I applied online, and then I got a call a few days later to confirm they got my application. After that, I kept calling them, maybe once a week. I made sure to mention my name each time. If I knew the person answering the phone, I'd say 'Hello [name], it's [my name] calling again to talk to [the owner] about my application. Are they available?' Eventually, I think they got tired of me calling and asked me to come in for an interview. They asked common interview questions like what you're looking for out of this job, what you can bring to this job, and if you'd rather work alone or with a team, but one very important one that I felt was very focused on selling.
- Can you explain the differences between a red pen, a highlighter, and a pencil while still speaking positively about each one?
- How would you describe the differences between a red pen, a highlighter, and a pencil without speaking ill of any of them?
Store Manager
You'll be responsible for setting up the processes and standards needed for selecting, implementing, and supporting systems. Your role involves giving direction, guidance, and training, as well as sharing company-wide Enterprise Technology policies. You'll also be coaching your teams to improve their project management, communication, and troubleshooting abilities.
- Could you tell me about your strengths and weaknesses?
- What are your strengths and what are your weakness?
