They wanted to know about me, my past experiences, what I did after school, and my interests. I also had to do a calculation for the change at the end. They seemed curious about how I approach problems and asked more about my background. It was pretty conversational and felt engaging.
- Could you tell me a little about yourself?
Team Member
It was a little all over the place, they asked questions about the company, your hygiene, your biggest accomplishments, why you want to work at that specific location, professional qualities, etc. They just want to see if you can hold a conversation. A plus if you can have questions for them and relate to them.
- Tell me about your biggest fail and how you overcame it.
Team Member
I applied in person at the store by filling out the paper application. The owner/operator contacted me about two weeks later for an interview. The manager owned a few different franchise locations and the store I interviewed at wasn't the one I was hired for, but it was close. The questions weren't too hard; since I was a sophomore in high school, they asked about my work ethic and activities, and I tried to be friendly and smiled a lot. It was my first job so I had no experience, but the most important qualities they look for are the ability to talk to customers, handle difficult situations, take direction from managers, and learn quickly. I was offered a position at the end and started training about a week later.
- Tell me about a time you encouraged teammates to improve while working in a group or team.
