First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Ridgetop Research.
Research Associate
So I had a phone screening call, and then they set up in-office interviews on the same day with 3 different employees and also the CEO. The whole thing lasted about 3 hours, and it went pretty well. But then they rejected me without explaining why.
- What makes you interested in expert networks?
- Why did you choose expert networks over continuing in consulting or finance?
Sales Representative
The first round interview was done over Facetime since I was living in DC at the time and they were in NY. I got to speak to a few of the employees and ask questions about the company. The questions were mostly a behavioral interview. The second round they give you a project to call around and find the right talent for a client they currently have.
- Can you tell me about your background as seen on your resume?
- Why are you interested in working for Ridgetop?
Associate
They make applicants do free work for them with no job guarantee. The process started standard with a 1-on-1 with a hiring director and then more interviews with higher-ups. Then came the sample project, which is basically doing free work for them without even a job promise. They give a prompt, possibly a real project they're getting paid for, and you have to recruit people to talk to them about it. You use your own accounts, get no pay, and no guaranteed job. I stopped after a few hours of work on the project and told them I wouldn't continue. If you value yourself, don't do free work for a company that doesn't employ you. I would be so mad if I did hours of unpaid work on a real project and didn't get the job. Ridgetop Employees, please change this. Everyone I talked to was weirded out and told me to stop because I was better than that. There are better ways to judge candidates than exploiting them for free labor when you have the upper hand.
- Can you describe yourself and your strengths?
- Tell me about yourself.
Analyst
The interview was brief and not really worth the effort. The analysts acted arrogant and the CEO seemed uninterested, I'm not sure why he showed up. They were very secretive about the role, essentially describing it as a 'smile and dial' position. The pay is very low for what's expected, and the office environment is just okay.
- Can you describe a past problem you successfully resolved?
