Sales Development Representative
First, you’ll chat with the recruiter; it’s super easy, they just want you to introduce yourself and will tell you about the role. After that, you need to send in a 1-minute voicemail where you explain why you’d be a great candidate. Then, you’ll move on to the second round, which is all about showing your motivation. The questions are pretty basic, like asking you to introduce yourself, why you wanna work in tech, why sales, and what makes you a good fit.
- Can you introduce yourself and explain why you are a good fit for this role?
- Can you provide a 1-minute voicemail explaining why you'd be a great candidate?
- Can you introduce yourself?
Lead Generation Specialist
The hiring coordinator was very casual in our emails, which was fine. Shortly after I sent my resume, they requested a phone interview. The interview was on their personal mobile phone and had bad service, making it hard to hear. After about five minutes of basic questions like 'How did you hear about us?' and 'Are you from the area?', I was invited for an in-person interview at the Citrix suite. The job involved cold calling companies to pitch Citrix services. For the interview, myself and two other candidates had to call actual companies to see how comfortable we were in a real-world scenario. The coordinator said they'd respond by the next day (Friday), but I heard nothing. Since the following Monday was a holiday, by Tuesday afternoon I called them. They didn't answer, so I left a voicemail about my interview results, but no callback. I emailed the next day asking again, still no response. I figured I didn't get the job, but I really disliked being ignored after they promised a quick response. I think the least they could have done was let me know I didn't get the job instead of ghosting me.
- The on the spot cold calling was unexpected. We were required to fill out a short form about the success of our calls and were told not to sound like we were selling, even though that was the ultimate goal.
Sales Representative
I got a call for an initial screening where they asked about my past jobs and experience, and then told me about the role and company. Next, I had an in-person interview. The interviewer was nice, direct, and gave good info. The questions were straightforward. They showed me around the office and I got to observe another sales rep. Later, they sent an email with a questionnaire that mostly repeated the interview questions.
- If I were to call a previous employer, what is something positive they would say and what is something negative they would say?
Sales Development Manager
The interview process was quick and fast-paced, and everyone I met was friendly and seemed to enjoy their jobs and the company. The only downside was the salary offered, which was significantly lower than what's posted on Glassdoor. They expect you to manage 15 SDRs for $45k. It would be better to be upfront about compensation to avoid wasting people's time.
- Are you a good culture fit for the team?
