The hiring coordinator was very casual in our emails, which was fine. Shortly after I sent my resume, they requested a phone interview. The interview was on their personal mobile phone and had bad service, making it hard to hear. After about five minutes of basic questions like 'How did you hear about us?' and 'Are you from the area?', I was invited for an in-person interview at the Citrix suite. The job involved cold calling companies to pitch Citrix services. For the interview, myself and two other candidates had to call actual companies to see how comfortable we were in a real-world scenario. The coordinator said they'd respond by the next day (Friday), but I heard nothing. Since the following Monday was a holiday, by Tuesday afternoon I called them. They didn't answer, so I left a voicemail about my interview results, but no callback. I emailed the next day asking again, still no response. I figured I didn't get the job, but I really disliked being ignored after they promised a quick response. I think the least they could have done was let me know I didn't get the job instead of ghosting me.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • The on the spot cold calling was unexpected. We were required to fill out a short form about the success of our calls and were told not to sound like we were selling, even though that was the ultimate goal.

Had a quick phone call first, then one face-to-face interview. You gotta convince them you're competitive, a team player, can meet your daily targets, and always stay positive. Throw in the old reliable 'So when can I start?' - it might sound cheesy, but it shows you've got the nerve to ask.

First, there's a phone interview. If that goes well, you'll have an interview with recruiters and a manager. Then, you'll shadow a current lead gen specialist. Finally, you'll do a 15-minute practice phone call session that's monitored.
