First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Resorts World Sentosa.
Ride Operator
I got an interview two weeks after applying for the ride operator job. It was on Teams and seemed like it was supposed to be one interviewer talking to two of us candidates. The interview had three parts. First, they asked about my past experiences. Then we moved onto some situational questions. Finally, they asked about how I present myself personally and if I had any visible tattoos or piercings.
- How would you handle specific scenarios, such as a child being just under the height requirement for the ride?
- Could you share some of your previous work experiences?
- What is your approach to personal appearance?
Manager, Revenue and Product Performance
Before the 1st round HR interview, I was asked to submit my educational certificates and past payslips, which seemed like a red flag. I applied for several jobs at Resorts World Sentosa and inquired about the process for forwarding my applications for other roles. I was told that separate HR teams handle those roles and that I would get an interview if I was suitable. This suggests the company's HR prioritizes individual targets over business needs. The interview itself was disorganized and disappointing. Another interviewer appeared clueless, and I didn't gain any valuable insights about the role. The interviewers also seemed unsure about the ideal candidate profile. Given the company's size, I found the outdated hiring processes disappointing, especially the policy of requesting payslips/transcripts and the lack of inter-team HR collaboration. I was rejected, possibly due to my salary expectations or my inquiries about other applications. Ultimately, it felt like a waste of time.
- What value would you contribute to Resorts World Singapore if hired?
Performance Marketing Manager
The interview process felt a bit all over the place. They switched the meeting spot the day before to somewhere less convenient, which was a bit of a pain but okay. The big issue though was the silence after the interview; I followed up and heard nothing back. Also, nobody introduced the interviewer beforehand, making it feel kinda impersonal and not very professional. I was interviewing for a performance marketing role, and the questions were mostly about my past experience and how I'd tackle some of their specific business challenges. Since performance marketing is so broad, there isn't a single way to manage projects. Looking back, I think I answered too technically, like I would with other industry folks. Coming from an agency, I'm used to breaking things down for clients, and I should've done that here. That was my bad.
- Can you describe how you would approach media management for an event like Halloween Horror Night in 2024?
HR Executive
This phone interview left me concerned about the company’s culture and values. It was scheduled inconveniently on a Sunday morning. They didn't seem interested in supporting my part-time studies and professional development. The interviewer came across as unfriendly, making the experience uncomfortable. While the tourism industry is known for work-life balance challenges, their expectations seemed to favor an imbalance with little respect for personal time. Overall, it raised red flags about their approach to employee well-being and growth.
