First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Reingold.
Digital Marketing Intern
The interview process felt good overall. It started with an initial HR call. Then, I had an interview with a team member where we mostly discussed my background. The second interview was a video call with two team members and a Principal, where they talked about the role and my experience. Lastly, there was a take-home case study that wasn't too difficult.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- What would you say are your strong and weak points?
- Are you familiar with CTR and CPC concepts? Could you explain them?
Paid Media Specialist
The interview process started with a quick HR phone screening to check my qualifications. Then, I had a call with the hiring manager, which went well. He sent me a timed Microsoft Excel test, asking me to complete either Paid Search or Paid Social questions, which was difficult and confusing, taking several hours. I had 48 hours to complete it, starting Saturday morning. A week or two later, I got an invitation for an in-person interview. It was a group/panel style with different interviewers every 30 minutes. The first person I met was a VP, and we had a good conversation about the role and culture. However, the interview with the hiring manager turned sour when discussing the assessment. He was upset I only did the Search section, though the instructions said to choose one. He aggressively implied I should have done both, despite the time limit. Then, during a situational question about not delivering on time, I explained a vendor delay and how I managed it. He became combative, questioned my company's procedures, raised his voice, and got angry. I knew the interview was over then. The final group interview with two guys was unprofessional and bizarre. They decided to 'play a game' where they'd answer questions for each other, making me talk to one person while the other answered for him for 30 minutes. It made the company look bad and I lost all interest in the job.
- Can you share an instance where you exceeded expectations?
- Describe a situation where you failed to meet a deadline for a client and your approach to handling it.
- What was your experience with the paid search assessment?
Communications Associate
I found the job on Indeed.com and applied with my resume, cover letter, and a writing sample. About four days later, I received an email with a writing challenge: rewrite a bad press release. A week after that, I had a Skype interview with a Senior Associate and a Project Manager. They asked standard behavioral questions and talked about their work and experience at Reingold. The last step was another Skype interview with some higher-ups, but I already had an offer by then. They were cool with my time needs and I managed to negotiate a higher salary because another offer paid a bit more, and they matched it. The whole process was super fast, one of the quickest I've had. Everyone I met was really nice and professional.
- What part of communications gets you most excited?
- Tell me about your experience within Reingold.
- What kind of projects do you work on?
Project Manager
The process was long and I lost interest before they even sent a rejection. The first step was a VP interview to check cultural fit. I passed that and was told I'd have an in-person interview. A week later, no call, so I followed up. HR said she'd check. The in-person interview happened, but one of the interviewers was missing. We talked about their culture, what they do, and projects. It was a good chat. A few days later, I was told about another online interview, which felt more like an interrogation. The interviewer used a lot of jargon and asked scenario-based questions and about my work experience. Again, after a week, I heard nothing and got a canned message. Honestly, I wasn't interested anymore because the whole application process made me think that's how they operate internally.
- Tell me about a project you managed that was either very successful or a complete failure, and explain the reasons behind its outcome.
