Risk Advisory
The interviews touch on some technical aspects, but a lot of it is about behavior and culture fit. They want to see if you're a hard worker and have potential. Previous experience is helpful, and showing enthusiasm really matters.
- Would you prefer to be perfect at a task but always late, or do an adequate job but always be on time?
Accountant
I emailed my resume and cover letter to a recruiter and then got a call back for a phone interview. It had basic behavioral questions, so be ready to talk about your strengths and weaknesses, and times you led, worked in a team, or influenced someone. The only technical question was about my Excel knowledge (pivot tables). I waited a month to hear back that I wasn't selected for an office interview.
- What is your proficiency with Excel?
- Can you tell me about your strengths and weaknesses?
- Can you share an example of a time you took a leadership role?
Intern
Recruiters met me on campus and I submitted my application. The first round interviews were on campus. A senior and staff member greeted me while I waited and we chatted about basic small-talk, like hobbies and interests. The actual interview was with a manager who asked typical behavioral questions. The second round interview was in the office and consisted of a series of 4-6 mini-interviews with various managers and a principal, followed by lunch with two seniors.
- Tell me about a time you faced a difficult situation at work.
- What interests you about tax or audit?
- What are your reasons for pursuing accounting?
Auditor
The first interview was on campus. Then I got called back for a second interview at the office. The office interview had a bunch of short interviews with partners and senior management. It was mostly basic behavior questions and questions about my resume and general history. I interviewed with six people in total, which was a good test of how I can adapt to different personalities. The whole vibe was pretty relaxed but it moved fast, going from one interviewer to the next quickly.
- Can you share an instance where you actively made an effort to include someone from a different cultural background?
