First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Redesign Health.
Associate
The interview process is heavily focused on unpaid take-home assignments that require a lot of time and strategic thinking. Even though this is presented as part of the evaluation, it's not clear how these assignments are actually used or valued, and many candidates don't move forward even after submitting strong work. It can feel like a one-sided process where candidates put in a lot of effort but don't get much feedback or a clear path to getting hired. I'd suggest the company either simplify the assignments or pay candidates for the extensive work they do.

Head of Product
This interview process had multiple rounds, starting with quick chats and moving to more in-depth evaluations. Some interviewers were late, which messed up the schedule. The questions felt pretty generic and didn't really get into the specifics needed for a Head of Product. I also didn't get much time to ask my own questions. I had to do a take-home assignment that took about 5-10 hours. During the presentation for it, they mostly cared about the answers and not really how I thought about the problem. The whole thing felt rushed and a bit disorganized, and the take-home plus presentation style made it seem a bit exploitative.

Chief of Staff
I submitted my application online and was subsequently contacted by a recruiter to arrange a conversation. The recruiting team maintained excellent communication throughout the entire process, which I really appreciated. The interview process included a standard recruiter call and a 45-minute discussion with the CEO. While the CEO was quite friendly, they did yawn several times during our meeting, which I interpreted as a negative indicator. Ultimately, I decided against pursuing this opportunity because the initial salary range advertised was $150,000-$160,000 per year, but during the initial call, I was informed that the range had been reduced to $130,000-$150,000, which did not meet my expectations.

Product Manager
The hiring process was really supportive and upfront, the most I've ever seen. Interviewers were engaged, knew their stuff, and were friendly. The last interviews had a structure where they gave the general questions ahead of time to prep, which was helpful and felt pretty fair. I went through 4 rounds but didn't end up getting an offer. The presentation round involved a take-home assignment that I then had to present. I've given projects like this to candidates myself and have mixed feelings about them. There's a growing thought among product folks that asking for hours of work on a take-home project is a lot for people who are working full-time, especially parents. What I've seen and started doing is asking candidates to present past work to see how they present, and then giving them a separate short exercise focused on the role's strategic needs. It takes a lot of time to research, prep, practice, and be polished for the final presentation. They look at executive presence and polish as much as the content, since these early companies need to pitch VCs. I really put effort into the presentation because it's an industry I'm passionate about and I care about the patients who would be served. The recruiter was really nice about delivering the news about the offer not happening and offered a debrief. She gave clear, detailed, and useful feedback. I felt like they wanted me to succeed and encouraged me to apply again.
