First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Redesign Health.
Chief of Staff
I submitted my application online and was subsequently contacted by a recruiter to arrange a conversation. The recruiting team maintained excellent communication throughout the entire process, which I really appreciated. The interview process included a standard recruiter call and a 45-minute discussion with the CEO. While the CEO was quite friendly, they did yawn several times during our meeting, which I interpreted as a negative indicator. Ultimately, I decided against pursuing this opportunity because the initial salary range advertised was $150,000-$160,000 per year, but during the initial call, I was informed that the range had been reduced to $130,000-$150,000, which did not meet my expectations.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- Describe your approach to budget management.
Chief of Staff
The interview process was pretty intentional, taking several weeks. It kicked off with a recruiter chat, then moved to 1:1s with the hiring manager. After that, there was a case presentation. The final part involved a bunch of 1:1s with different stakeholders, focusing on specific organizational values. These value interviews were short on time, so it was hard to really connect with the interviewers, and the questions were super specific. The interviewers seemed to try to help, but it was clear they had a very narrow idea of what a good answer looked like. Overall, it was a good experience, but those value interviews were definitely more intense than the rest. The rejection email felt impersonal, like the one they send to people who don't even get past the first round, which was a bummer considering how much effort I put in.
- Can you give an example of a successful organization and explain their strategy?
Chief of Staff
Applied online. Got an email from a recruiter asking for my availability. I sent it over and then heard nothing back. Suddenly, I get a call from the recruiter asking 'is this still a good time?'. I was confused who it was at first, but then she said it was Redesign Health about the chief of staff role. It was pretty frustrating and unprofessional because she could have just rescheduled or sent an invite, but instead, she just went ahead with the interview and sent the confirmation email 'anyway'. Very unprofessional.
- Can you share your experience with financial quantitative analysis?
