First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Rainbow Shops.
Assistant Manager
I applied and got a call back after a few days. The store they were interviewing at was 45 minutes away. When I got there, I had to fill out the application again and write my resume by hand even though I had already filled it out online. The interviewer looked at my resume, which shows 3 years of retail management experience but not specifically in a clothing store (since it's fashion). She offered me a cashier position at minimum wage. When I asked about growth, she said 'always' but then mentioned she doesn't control the stores in my area. It was a waste of my time and gas, very disappointing.
- Can you tell me about your experience?
- Do you have prior experience in the fashion industry?
Sales Assistant
i got a mail and had an initial interview with the hr assistant, which went really smoothly and i didn't have any problems. After the interview, I got another mail after 2 weeks. It clearly stated that I was not selected for the next steps.
- Tell me about your past experiences.
Sales Associate
I submitted my application and resume, and they set up an interview for that same day and hired me right away. I've heard that others applying here were asked for their resume and at least 3 references, which I had already included on my resume as you should always do.
- What are your career aspirations and why are you interested in this company?
- Can you describe your previous work experience and employment history?
- What are your future career goals?
Co-Manager
Applied online and got a call from the store manager about 30 minutes later to set up an interview. Had the first interview with her, where we talked about basic questions, Rainbow policies, and company goals. A week later, I had a two-hour interview with the district manager. They mentioned the next step would be a phone interview with the regional manager, which we scheduled. Then, the store manager called saying they needed to check if they were still interested because of my short employment history, which was weird since we talked about my almost 6 years at my previous job. It was odd to have a second interview and schedule a third if my employment history was a problem.
- Can you describe a time you handled an angry customer and how you de-escalated the situation?
