Behavioral Technical Presentation

It was a really long interview process, took over a month. Started with a phone call, then a series of panel interviews, writing tests, and more panel and individual interviews. Got really good feedback throughout until the final interview with the SVP. He seemed disengaged, not even looking up from his phone, and expressed concern about my willingness to come into the office three days a week. I even saw the job reposted on LinkedIn before I heard anything back from HR.

  • Can you share an instance where you faced a situation with limited information and had to make a choice?
  • Describe your approach to managing a subject matter expert who might be challenging to collaborate with.

It started out with some basic resume stuff, like asking about my research on inflation expectations. Then the interviewer, who was a portfolio manager, really got into it. We had a good back-and-forth about inflation and how to trade it, plus the macroeconomic outlook and Fed policy and stuff like that.

Confirmed questions4 questions
  • What is your outlook on inflation?
  • Given your inflation outlook, how would you approach trading it?
  • Could you answer some general quantitative questions regarding Fed policy?
