First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Purple.
Communications Specialist
Great interview process, and very proactive communication during the process, you never have to guess where you are at in the process. They reached out to me after every interview and will also not let go a day go by without emailing me about the status of my application.

Trade Compliance Manager
I applied online and heard back from HR in a couple weeks about some screener questions. A few days after that, they set up an interview with the supply-chain team. They asked me a bunch of trade compliance and supply-chain questions, which were not too hard if you know what you are doing. That went well, and the next day they emailed me to set up Round 2 with the COO. It did not go well. He was a few minutes late to the Zoom and seemed really annoyed the whole time. He hadn't read my resume. He told me to ask him anything about the company, so I asked some supply-chain and sourcing questions, and he just said 'I don't know' mockingly. When I asked him to ask me more questions, I asked about the company's financial health since he 'doesn't know' about the supply chain. This really set him off. He rolled his eyes and said purple is a public company and he can't discuss that, telling me to look on their website. As soon as the interview was over, I knew I wouldn't get the job and probably wouldn't want to work for him.
- The COO stated he is a Globalist and doesn't believe countries should impose anti-dumping duties or retaliatory tariffs; what are your thoughts on this?
- Does your experience include executive leadership?
- How do you primarily determine HTS classifications?
Production Designer
I got an email from the recruiter to set up a 30 min phone interview. She was very transactional and just there to ask the questions, not enthusiastic or super friendly. Like several people mentioned, I did not get a response whether I got to the next round or not. I understand not getting to the next round, but Purple should give candidates some closure by letting them know. Very unprofessional.
- How do you ensure everyone on your team feels comfortable with you?
- Can you share an instance where you made an error and how you handled it?
- What drew you to join Purple?
UX Designer
The recruiter was super hyped about my profile, saying they hadn't found anyone suitable for this role before. I went through three interview rounds. But then, the VP of e-commerce cancelled my interview just as it was supposed to start. After that, the recruiter ghosted me, giving a flimsy excuse about 'changing their process' – which sounded odd since they'd been trying to fill this job for months and a process change seemed unlikely. Eventually, the recruiter got back to me saying they chose other candidates based on culture fit. It really felt like they had a very specific mold in mind for who they wanted.
- Could you share your research experience?
- How do you collaborate with fellow designers?
