Software Engineer
I started with an email about a logic assessment, which was a smart move to speed things up (sent on a Friday). After that, my current manager emailed me on Monday to set up an in-person interview via Calendly. I had my first (and only) in-person interview on Wednesday, the earliest I could make it. My manager, who interviewed me, made me feel really welcome. He patiently answered all my questions and was upfront about the changes he was implementing and how they would improve our work environment. This interview was different from typical developer interviews I've had. He posed some brain teaser questions and was supportive, offering guidance when I needed a little help. The interview was about an hour long. I got the offer the following week, as they were still interviewing others.
- Logic and brain teaser questions
Software Engineer
The process was pretty basic. A recruiter reached out on LinkedIn for an initial chat. My first interview was with the dev manager and another person, lasting an hour. They were both really nice and asked many questions about my past experience. No technical definitions or whiteboarding were involved. The second interview was with my potential dev lead and the product manager. They asked several questions about my previous work, and again, no definitions or leet code questions. They seemed mostly interested in my past experience and how it would suit their team.
- What's your approach to fixing a bug?
Product Development Engineer
This whole thing took forever, and I had to chase them down a bunch 'cause someone messed up and didn't get back to me or respond. They totally strung me along, saying I was their top choice and I'd hear back soon, but then nothing. After a month and a half and five interviews, they ghosted me. I had to push one of their hiring people for an answer, and then they just said 'thanks, but no thanks'.
